The Arts & Cultural Vitality Division of the City of Tacoma is currently seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative individual for the position of Tacoma Creates Program Assistant!
The person in this position will provide essential administrative support for the Tacoma Creates program, including the day-to-day management of cultural funding contracts and related programs that support Tacoma’s vibrant cultural sector. They will have strong data and project management skills to support contract compliance, creating and managing registration processes, and tracking overlapping processes and deadlines; they will also have the communications skills necessary to develop and implement public-facing communications, including social media, websites, and newsletters.
The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized and enjoys working with logistical details and data; someone who likes working closely with a small and dynamic team, doing the back-end work that supports strong programming in the community, and someone who brings an equity lens and critical thinking to their work. This is a full-time position that is generally in the office 3 days/week and remote 2 days/week.

TACOMA CREATES 2023-24 ANNUAL REPORT
We are excited to announce the release of the 2023-24 Tacoma Creates Annual Report, celebrating a fourth year of success and highlighting the impacts of funding 65 cultural organizations throughout the City of Tacoma! These highlights include:
$5.8 Million distributed to 65 organizations in the City of Tacoma
Over 1,200 programs were produced by Tacoma Creates-funded organizations.
77% of programs were free for all participants.
Partnerships with Tacoma Public Schools and Tacoma Public Library continue to grow, serving thousands of youth and families across Tacoma.
Tacoma Creates nurtures the sustainability of the cultural sector by supporting organizations’ financial health, their ability to collaborate, and their programming and staffing capacity.

Partnerships with Tacoma Public SchoolS students and teachers!
Tacoma Creates funds will cover round-trip bus costs for up to 200 school-day field trips, each school-year, for all Tacoma Public Schools (TPS) to attend Tacoma Creates-supported programming! This opportunity is open to classes serving all grade levels, pre-K-high school, at any Tacoma Public School, with a priority given to TPS Title 1 schools. Field trips eligible for this transportation support include any during-the-school-day cultural programming offered by currently funded organizations within the City of Tacoma.
Tacoma Creates is proud to be a partner on Beyond The Bell / Club B after-school programs, along with Tacoma Public Schools, Parks Tacoma, Greentrike, and other community partners, which provides after school classes at TPS elementary and middle school campuses.
