This page is a sample and not the final product of our Field Trip Opportunities page. These examples are from the 2023-24 field trip submissions and are not current. We have used two examples, one that has a general field trip opportunity, and one that has several date-specific opportunities.
Below, you will find a variety of field trip opportunities for the 2024-25 school year, presented by Tacoma Creates-supported organizations.

Field Trip: The Chinese Reconciliation Park History Tour
Description: This tour takes you to some of the places and people involved with the 1885 expulsion of Chinese merchants, laborers and their families from the city of Tacoma. It broadly recounts the history of expulsion and provides context to the places associated with activities leading up to these events.
Grades: 6th grade - 12th grade

Our mission is to provide as much opportunity as we can to show cultural wealth can unify us all. Tacoma Arts Live: Pre-K - 12th grade ⇩

Field Trip 1: Peking Acrobats
Description: Among the premiere Chinese acrobatic companies in the world today, The Peking Acrobats define their ancient art form and defy gravity with amazing displays of contortion, flexibility, and control.
Grades: Pre-K - 8th grade

Field Trip 2: Ailey II
Description: Stemming from the work of pioneering choreographer Alvin Ailey, Ailey II is universally renowned for merging the spirit and energy of the country’s best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding emerging choreographers.
Grades: 4th grade – 12th grade

Field Trip 3: In the Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson
Description: Told through humor, Chinese & English, and a rich multimedia staging, this play celebrates the bravery and sacrifice of those who bring new perspectives to our country. Based on the book by Bette Bao Lord
Grades: 3rd grade – 12th grade
